Multi-Session Exam - One exam, multiple sessions, no more hassle (Beta)

After over a year of feedback-driven iterations, we are thrilled to finally launch Multi-Session Exams in Public Beta! πŸš€ 🎊

We know how challenging it can be to manage exams across multiple time slots.

Whether you’re handling different cohorts or a single group with flexible schedules, working alone or with a team of Lecturers & Teaching Assistants, having to duplicate exams, split results, and merge exports complicates everything and keeps you from focusing on what really matters.

With Multi-Session Exams, you can now manage and coordinate multiple sessions within the same exam β€” no duplication needed.
All with a centralized view of results. πŸ™Œ

πŸš€ What this changes for you

πŸ”Ή One Exam, Multiple Sessions

  • Create multiple sessions (scheduled or manually opened) without duplicating the exam.

  • Assign students to specific sessions to control access, prevent double attempts, and avoid exam leaks.

  • Allow students to choose from multiple available sessions.

πŸ”Ή Optimized Student & Session Management

  • Session-specific invitations: Each student receives their exam link and schedule via email.

  • Flexible control: You or your teaching assistants can manage sessions independently and in parallel.

πŸ”Ή Unified Result Tracking

  • All grades centralized in one dashboard – easily filter by group or session.

  • No more manual exports & merges – grades & statistics cover all sessions automatically.

πŸ”₯ Use Cases

1️⃣ Managing multiple cohorts β†’ 100 students across three time slots? No need to duplicate the exam three times. Simply create one exam and assign the three cohorts to their corresponding sessions.

  • In-person: You or your assistants can open sessions manually.

  • Remote: Sessions open and close automatically.

2️⃣ Letting students choose their time slot β†’ Offer multiple slots and let students select the one that suits them, while keeping all grades centralized.

3️⃣ Easier makeup sessions β†’ A student missed the exam? Add them to a new session within the same exam β€” no need to reconfigure anything. Their score remains in the same gradebook.

Thanks to sessions, I save at least an hour per week on configuration and manual grade processing for my students’ weekly assessments.

And I have twice less stress when last-minute changes are needed, since I no longer have to update multiple duplicated exams!”

Try Multi-Session Exams today and let us know what you think! πŸš€
